The revised European Social Charter mainly concerns "social rights":

  • housing;
  • health;
  • education;
  • employment;
  • working conditions;
  • reduction of working time;
  • right to strike;
  • collective agreement;
  • equal pay for equal work;
  • maternity allowance;
  • legal and social protection;
  • social work activities;
  • movement of persons;
  • non-discrimination;
  • protection against poverty and social exclusion;
  • rights of migrant workers;
  • rights of persons with disabilities.

Belgium signed the revised European Social Charter on 3 May 1996 and ratified it on 2 March 2004.
